Macy Wassenaar
Macy Wassenaar is a senior at Sheldon High School. She was involved in a hit-and-run accident on February 9, 2024. Macy and her boyfriend were traveling on I-90 and were hit by a car merging from a ramp. Their truck, traveling at 80 mph, rolled several times into a ditch, and the vehicle continued driving. Thankfully, a citizen pulled over and helped them out of their vehicle moments before it was engulfed in flames. Macy was rushed to the ER, where she was observed to be suffering a brown jaw, broken ankle, and lacerated liver. But the worst was her fractured skull with bone fragments, causing an artery to tear and blood pooling and clotting. She was rushed into surgery, and everything came out well.
Macy has a long road ahead of her, and many Western Christian students would like to support her on this journey. In response, Western's FFA Chapter is holding a change war that will result in 5 students, and potentially another faculty member kissing a pig. If we raise $500 we will have 5 students kiss the pig along with Coach Derek Keizer. If we raise $1,000 we will have another faculty member kiss the pig.
We have jugs by the office where donations can be placed! Please consider supporting Macy and her family through this tough time. We would like to surround her with our love and support as she heals.
Feed the Farmers
Last week we had a committee put together lunches for the farmers that could be picked up near Hull Coop.
